What to expect

Civic Tech DC Project Night is a working session where volunteers split into groups and make progress on civic technology projects. Depending on the project, the work may be brainstorming, researching, writing, coding or analyzing data. Food is provided, and laptops are recommended but not required. This edition is on a Thursday at a new location, OpenGovHub, so regulars should note the change.

Who should attend

The organizers say all are welcome. Civic Tech DC describes its members as software developers, designers, project and product managers, data analysts and activists, and it partners with community organizations and government agencies. For a founder new to the DMV, this is hands-on volunteer work alongside local technologists, not a pitch or networking event. It suits you best if you are building for government, elections, housing or public data, or simply want to contribute a skill.
