Terms of Service

StartDMV is a platform that connects founders, investors, service providers, development organizations, and government agencies across the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia startup ecosystem. StartDMV is a Pixanow project.

You agree to use the site lawfully and respectfully. You may not:

• submit false, misleading, or spam content, events, or listings;
• impersonate any person or organization;
• attempt to breach, scrape at scale, or disrupt the site's security or availability;
• use the site to send unauthorized advertising or solicitations.

We may suspend or remove content, listings, or accounts that violate these terms.

You may need an account to submit events or list an organization. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for any activity under your account. Provide accurate information and tell us if you believe your account has been compromised.

When you submit an event, list an organization, write a comment, or otherwise provide content, you confirm that you have the right to share it and that it is accurate. You grant StartDMV a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, display, and promote that content on this website, in our emails, and in our social channels, in connection with operating the StartDMV community.

We review submissions before publishing. We may edit titles or descriptions for clarity, decline submissions, or remove published content at our discretion — for example, when an event has passed, an organization is no longer active, or a submission breaches these terms.

Events listed on StartDMV are organized by third parties, not by StartDMV. We publish event information in good faith but do not guarantee its accuracy, and we are not responsible for the quality, safety, refunds, or conduct of any event or its organizers. Event pages may link to external registration sites; those sites have their own terms and privacy practices.

Directory listings are provided for community information only. A listing is not an endorsement, partnership, or certification by StartDMV. If your organization is listed and you want it updated or removed, contact us and we will handle it promptly.

The StartDMV name, logo, website design, and editorial content are owned by StartDMV or its licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission. You may share links to our articles and event pages freely.

The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the site will always be available, error-free, or that information on it — including event dates and details — is current. Always confirm event details with the organizer.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, StartDMV and Pixanow are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or from events, services, or organizations listed on it.

We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date above shows the current version. We may also modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site. If you do not agree with the updated terms, please stop using the site.

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the District of Columbia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
