What to expect

The PDC Idea Track Showcase is a public pitch event hosted by the Dingman - Lamone Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Maryland. University of Maryland student innovators will pitch early-stage concepts, share what they have learned so far and work to move their ideas closer to reality. Audience members are invited to come cheer them on and encourage their progress.

The showcase is part of the Pitch Dingman Competition, which the event page describes as UMD's signature venture competition, awarding $170,000 in seed funding across multiple tracks. The Luby Idea Track featured at this showcase is built for students at the very beginning of their entrepreneurial journey, from notebook ideas to first prototypes. According to the Dingman - Lamone Center, students from any college or major can compete, and the center also runs for-credit courses, venture creation programs, seed funding and startup job opportunities for UMD students and alumni.

Who should attend

Founders, mentors, investors, alumni and community members who want to support student entrepreneurs, see what early-stage ideas are coming out of UMD, or get to know the Dingman - Lamone Center's programs. It is also useful for students considering entering a future Pitch Dingman track.
