What to expect

AI Tinkerers DC Metro is a meetup built around live, 5-minute demos of how systems are built, with code walkthroughs favored over slides. Demos are expected to cover architecture, data flow, prompt and context strategy, evals, and failure modes.

Who should attend

The page welcomes engineers, researchers, and technical founders with working projects, plus teams running evals, retrieval, agents, or model integration. It says job seekers, recruiters, sales-led vendor pitches, and product marketing are not a fit. Listed prerequisites are comfort reading logs and traces, the ability to run at least one LLM or model API from code, familiarity with Python or TypeScript, and willingness to share implementation details. A non-technical founder would not meet these.

The location is listed only as Washington, DC. The exact address and entry details go to accepted attendees.

How to register

RSVP on the event page. Organizers review every RSVP and attendance requires their approval, so an RSVP is not a confirmed seat. Include your name, company, role, email, and one link to your technical work (GitHub, LinkedIn, or X). The page shows capacity as 8 screened builders with 45 registered, so expect screening to be selective. No price is listed. To propose a demo, use the speaker proposal form; working code or a running system is required.
