What to expect

A 90-minute live webinar on Zoom from SCORE Washington DC, part of its Small Business Essentials webinar series for people considering starting a business. It walks through how to estimate your startup costs, forecast revenue, and build a projected profit and loss statement and cash flow forecast. SCORE says its webinars are taught by experienced, certified SCORE mentors.

Who should attend

First-time founders and aspiring small business owners who need realistic numbers for a business plan, a loan application or their own planning, and who have not built financial projections before.

What you will cover

  • Calculating initial startup expenses
  • Developing sales projections
  • Building a projected profit and loss (income) statement
  • Preparing a projected cash flow statement

The session is practical rather than theoretical, so it helps to come with rough figures for your own idea, such as expected prices, likely early customers and the costs you already know about.

How to join online

The session starts at 6:00 PM Eastern and runs about 1.5 hours over Zoom. All registrants receive a link to the recording after the live event, so registering is worthwhile even if you cannot attend live.

How to register

The fee is $10. Register through the SCORE registration form. More details are on the SCORE Washington DC event page.
