What to expect
The HJF Innovation Ecosystem hosts a panel discussion with program directors from several National Institutes of Health (NIH) institutes, followed by a meet-and-greet. It takes place in the auditorium at the headquarters of the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) in Bethesda. The goal is to connect individuals, small businesses and collaborators working on dual-use technology with NIH leaders who shape funding and research priorities. About 60 people were registered when we checked.
One-on-one meetings
Attendees can request a 15-minute one-on-one meeting with an NIH program director during two windows, 12:00 to 1:00 PM and 2:00 to 3:00 PM. To request one, email ecosystem@hjf.org with the program director's name, your company or organization, and a two to three sentence description of your technology or area of interest. Requests are first come, first served and depend on availability. When we checked, NIAID and NINDS slots were full, while other institutes still had openings. Confirmed participants receive their meeting time and assigned program director and must add the meeting to their own calendar. Program director bios are linked from the event page.
