What to expect
Baltimore Tech Meetup is hosting an evening talk on outsourcing and building teams across borders. The session looks at how businesses can access skilled global talent, evaluate quality, build trust across borders and scale teams cost-effectively. There is no formal agenda beyond the talk, questions and networking, and the group plans to meet for drinks in the area afterward.
Who should attend
The invitation is addressed to Baltimore's founders, business owners and tech community. It is most relevant if you are deciding whether to hire your first engineers or operators abroad, or are trying to stretch a small hiring budget. It is also a practical way for a founder new to the region to meet local peers, since the group encourages conversation before and after the event through its chat and Slack.
Speaker
Jubelo Oyeniran is a Johns Hopkins MBA candidate and co-founder and CEO of Kairos Nexus Global, a staffing technology company. The page says the company is supported by the Johns Hopkins Pava Center and backed by TEDCO, and that he previously worked at RSM and Citrin Cooperman. Because he runs a staffing company, expect his view to come from that side of the market, and bring your own questions on cost and quality.
Venue and access
Spark Baltimore (Spark Coworking), 8 Market Pl, Suite 300, Baltimore, MD 21202. The event page places it on the first floor of Power Plant Live!, next to Charm City Clue Room. A venue listing shows paid parking offsite. The group's page says attendees agree to its Code of Conduct and that photos taken may be used in promotional material; you can rescind that permission by contacting the organizers.
How to register
RSVP with the Attend button on the Meetup event page, and check there for any fee, since none is listed.
