What to expect
Marketing to Federal Agencies for Beginners Pt. 1 is a one-hour virtual workshop on Thursday, November 12, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Eastern, listed by the Maryland Women's Business Center. It is presented by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), with Nick Rajpara, an SBA Procurement Center Representative, as presenter.
The session is an introduction for small business owners who want to sell products or services to the federal government but are not sure where to start. According to the event page, it covers:
- An overview of the federal marketplace
- How government agencies buy goods and services
- First steps to position your business for contracting opportunities
- Key registrations, certifications, and resources from the SBA and other federal partners
This is the first of a two-part series; Pt. 2 follows as a separate listing on the Center's calendar.
Who should attend
Founders and small business owners who are new to government contracting. For a founder new to the DMV, where federal agencies are a large share of buyers, this is a low-commitment way to learn the basics before investing time in registrations and bids.
