What to expect
Tech in the Hut is a meetup for founders, builders and creators in Baltimore, run every two weeks on Tuesday by Palava Hut. Each edition has a theme, and this one, the fifth, is about EdTech. The organizers say classrooms have not caught up with the tools already changing how people learn, and the evening looks at founders working on that problem from Baltimore.
The main session is a fireside chat about what it takes to build a product that schools actually adopt, and a company that someone wants to acquire. Most of the evening is networking, before and after the chat.
Agenda and speakers
- 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM: Doors open and networking
- 6:45 PM to 7:00 PM: Fireside chat with Joseph Thibault, founder and CEO of Cursive Technologies (acquired by Blackboard), moderated by Brian Carlson, co-founder and CEO of Storytime AI
- 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM: More networking
Community partners for the event are Baltimore Tech Meet Up and Venture For Them.

It suits a founder who wants to meet Baltimore builders in a relaxed setting, or who wants to hear how an edtech company got from first school customers to an acquisition. Guests are welcome to bring a friend.
