What it is

Sunbound describes itself as a revenue operating system for senior living. Its software and services help assisted living and skilled nursing operators handle resident payments, insurance claims and cash flow, with the goal of faster collections, less bad debt and less administrative work. Its stated mission is to give senior living operators the revenue infrastructure they need to focus entirely on care. Manny Cominsky is co-founder and CEO. The company says its team is fully remote, and its press releases carry a Washington dateline. See its About page.

Funding and growth

In October 2026 Sunbound announced a $24 million Series A led by TTV Capital, with Bling Capital, Fika Ventures, Live Oak Bank and Ziegler Linkage Fund participating, bringing total funding to $36 million. It also announced the acquisition of Richter Healthcare Consultants, a firm with more than 25 years of experience in revenue cycle management, accounting and Medicaid eligibility for post-acute and senior living operators. Sunbound is also backed by Omega Healthcare Investors. The company says it processes over $1 billion in payments annually and serves communities in 45 states. Named operators include Bickford, Compass, Maplewood, Sinceri and Spring Oak.

Who it is for and how to engage

Customers are senior living and skilled nursing operators, including their finance, accounting, operations and community staff. Operators can request a demo through the website. Job seekers can check the careers page; the company says it is hiring and works fully remote. Sunbound also publishes a blog on senior living finance.

Why it matters in the DMV ecosystem

Sunbound is a DMV-linked example of vertical fintech: software combined with specialist services for a single industry with complex payment flows. Its path, raising a Series A while acquiring an established services firm, is useful for founders building AI products in regulated, operations-heavy sectors such as healthcare and long-term care.
