What to expect
AI Walks DCA is a walk-and-talk meetup run by Amir Feizpour and IRL Events (AISC IRL). The format replaces indoor networking with fresh air, exercise and conversation about AI and entrepreneurship. This Halloween Edition runs in the evening rather than the usual morning slot. The route covers Arlington neighborhoods picked for their elaborate Halloween decorations. The walk takes about an hour, and the group then shares a meal at AMBAR Restaurant in Clarendon.
Who should attend
The page lists startup founders, small business owners, AI researchers and practitioners, and data professionals. Friends from outside these fields are also welcome, and so are pets. If you are new to the DMV, this is a low-pressure way to meet local founders and AI people. The walks run roughly every three weeks, so you can come back to meet the same people again.
Venue and access
- Meeting point: Tatte Bakery and Cafe, Clarendon (Arlington, VA, Court House area). The full address appears only after you register.
- After the walk: a meal at AMBAR Restaurant, Clarendon.
- Late arrivals: the host says late arrivals usually cannot catch up with the walk and suggests meeting the group at the restaurant instead.
How to register
Registration is free and does not need host approval. The form asks for your full name and your role, for example founder, investor or AI person. You must also accept terms stating that the walk is a self-organized activity at your own risk. The organizers run a Slack community of more than 6,000 members with a dca-ai-walks channel for introductions. Register on Luma.
